Bohemian Luv Jones

Bohemian Luv Jones (1986-1988) started as an ad hoc wedding band for their dear pal Marco’s wedding. They cobbled together a set drawn mostly from Dave Doucet’s & Brad Orgeron’s Austin band, Aces 88, with a few covers thrown in. Well, the joke was on them … several club bookers saw the show & offered them gigs immediately. From then on the band grew many medusa-like heads … they played as a swampy CCR/Stonesy “bar band”, an over the top R&B style review ala James Brown, a power-lounge outfit doing standards like Summertime, St. James Infirmary & You Rascal You … and just about everything in between. They played as a 4 or 5 piece or up to an 11 piece w/ horns & gurly backing singers. The band headlined the clubs in town & opened for the likes of the Cramps & Godfathers, and played huge shows at Glashaus and even on a battleship! Together for 2 years, they finally called it a day in late ’88 and splintered into Tripsychord (Brad Orgeron, Dave Doucet &  Mike Feldman), Lee’s Blue Light Revue & Bone Cootes. Now … the time is right for another look in, just to see if the swamp is still as muddy.
